DAILY MAINTENANCE: CLEANING AND SANITATION OF NATURAL STONE TILES

With little effort and a few simple steps, daily maintenance can help ensure that the natural stone tiles in the house retain their charm and that dirt does not stand a chance. You will find several tips on how to clean natural stone with simple household products on the Internet. For example, in the case of grease stains, the baby powder should be applied to the stain, which absorbs the grease and is then swept over the natural stone slabs. It may or may not help. Ultimately, it depends on the existing natural stone and the particular stain. Instead of resorting to home remedies, we recommend using the proven remedies recommended by experts: Along with the impregnating agent, the care of

1. BETTER PROTECT BEAUTIFUL THINGS: IMPREGNATE NATURAL STONE

Impregnation not only protects against stains but also makes the floor easier to clean. Thanks to the nano effect, dirt and the like find it difficult to penetrate the stone. Liquids literally roll off the surface of natural stone slabs or tiles, and nothing penetrates the stone. On the one hand, it protects the floor's natural appearance; on the other hand, small incidents can be very easily eliminated. Impregnation reduces the absorbency of the stone. The result: effortless protection and cleaning.

To ensure the longevity of the protection, treat the natural stone floor with impregnations every four years. In more stressed areas like the kitchen or bathroom, soak at shorter intervals as needed. Special cleaning is then only necessary in absolutely exceptional cases.

By the way: for marble tiles, you need another impregnation.

Tip: Have you opted for a slate floor in a bright color like the Peacock? A color intensifier effectively brings out the natural color range and structure of natural stone slabs and has a water-repellent effect. No artificial shine effect is created on the slabs and dirt and stains are effectively removed from the stone. In this way, you can protect natural stone over the long term and intensify its color.

2. WIPING CARE INSTEAD OF ACIDS AND SURFACTANTS!

Acid is no laughing matter: it is best to leave cleaners containing acetic and citric acid and surfactants in the cupboard for the maintenance and cleaning of natural stones. Use slightly alkaline agents or a natural stone mop. A commercially available wipe care product is pH neutral and cleans and prolongs the effect of an impregnation. Natural stone tiles produce a slight sparkle which emphasizes the respective stone effect. To do this, it is enough to dilute the concentrate (about a capful) with water and apply it as stone care. Natural stone tiles are best swept and cleaned with brushes and soft brooms.

Tip: We recommend wiping maintenance of Lithofin

3.BASE CLEANER - THE AGENT AGAINST STUBBORN STAINS

No fear of stains: living natural stone for a living kitchen!

When things get hot during cooking, when the sauce splashes, or when baby food lands on the arched tiles, is it still easy to clean those stains and soils from natural stone in the kitchen? Soiling (such as oil stains) can be removed with water and a little basic cleaner. However, it is even better to protect the floor before stubborn stains appear. We recommend impregnating the floor (especially in the kitchen and bathroom) so that liquids and stains are repelled reliably and do not penetrate the stone.

By the way: Porcelain stoneware is also easy to maintain and clean: Dirt and stains are even easier to remove.

A basic cleaner helps to combat stubborn dirt, for example, mortar residue, and is, therefore, suitable for the final cleaning of buildings

The natural stone floor, the beautiful natural stone terrace, or the wall covering are finished; now you have to remove the dirt from the laying and the building material! For the "final cleaning of the building", a suitable basic cleaner can be used to remove installation residues, such as cement residues. What is the special feature of this natural stone cleaner? It is not acidic, and for this reason, it is suitable not only for sturdy granite but also for limestone and marble tiles.

Application: Apply the concentrated basic cleaner diluted in water and leave to act on the pre-moistened floor. This natural stone cleaner is perfectly suited to natural stone floors: dirt and stains are removed, then with a soft brush or cleaning pad. Natural stone tiles are so easy to clean. If the floor has been in the house a little longer, a stone renovation is also possible. After application, the surface shines again with a new shine.

Tip: If the base cleaner is not enough to remove stains and dirt, you can also use the cement residue cleaner in some cases. It should be applied in a very diluted form. Test the cement veil in an inconspicuous area before using it.
